WhatsApp and Instagram owner taken to court for contempt in South Africa
The Digital Law Company has asked the court to hold Meta in contempt for not providing data on users sharing explicit content of SA schoolchildren on WhatsApp. The firm seeks possible jail time for Meta’s SA public policy head if the company continues to defy a court order to release the data and shut down offending channels across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.
